Membership Benefits

The Wellington Law Association exists to enable its members to become successful, respected and fulfilled in their profession.

Members receive reduced rates to attend the CPD programs we host and receive via e-mail updates that are important to the profession. 

Library Services

  • Access to the Wellington Law Association Law Library (24 hours per day, 7 days per week)
  • Library services such as legal reference, computer-assisted research, photocopying, printing, and fax service
  • Free access to LexisNexis Quicklaw
  • Internet access (including wireless internet)

Member Services and Resources

Use of Library

The Law Library and its services are for the use of fee paying member lawyers of the Law Society of Ontario.

Photocopier Available

Small amounts of photocopying is free, we are on the honour system here, if you have or had a large copying project please see the librarian.

Faxing and Emailing

Lawyers can request material faxed or emailed (when possible) to their office. Lawyers may also send or receive faxes at the library.

Document Delivery / Interlibrary Loan

The WLA can borrow materials or obtain photocopies from other law libraries by email, courier or fax. This service is normally without charge to members.

Desktop Computers

Computers with WestLawNext Canada and LexisAdvance QL database access for various needs are available to members

Wifi

Wellington Law Assocation provides free wifi service (password protected) to its members and visiting counsel within the library and lounge.

Will Check Wills Registry for Ontario

Will Check is a registry to store the location for wills (not the wills themselves)
Will Search requests, if successful, will return the contact information of the law office who holds or drafted the will.
Requests and submissions can only be made by members of the WLA.
